APRC conducted a research on the current situation of land registration process in Georgia, analyzed ongoing land reform and outlined the challenges of land market development in the country.

In cooperation with the project ReforMeter and with the support of the Presidential Administration of Georgia, APRC elaborated a policy paper on Agricultural Land Registration Reform in Georgia.

The goal of the study was to better understand current situation of land registration process in Georgia, analyze the ongoing land reform and outline the challenges of land market development in the country. We studied existing literature about Georgian land market, as well as best international practices on different approaches of land registration (e.g., sporadic and systemic approaches). We surveyed over 120 Georgian farmers in all regions of Georgia and also conducted interviews with the main stakeholders. Based on the collected information, we elaborated recommendations on improving the agricultural land registration process in Georgia.

The results of policy paper were presented on a round table discussion held in Tbilisi, on June 29, 2018.
