ISET

On 3-7 February, 2014 a group of ISET-PI researchers were trained in Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA). The main goal of implementing RIA is to ensure that the benefits of a regulation exceed its costs for society as a whole.

Good RIA allows policy-makers to learn about the potential impact a new regulation may have in a detailed and systematic way, thus enabling them to make better informed decisions. The Economic Prosperity Initiative (EPI) organized the training, which was delivered by international leaders in regulatory reform Scott Jacobs and Cesar Cordova, directors of Jacobs, Cordova & Associates. Representatives of other NGOs and ministries were trained alongside the ISET-PI researchers.

ISET-PI has delivered advanced training course in Excel for ProCredit bank employees. There were four, one month long intensive trainings, each of 20 hours. The course syllabuses were discussed in advance with client to match needs to specific skills in Excel.

Thus, participants were actively involved, while material covered was very close to their everyday work. Training was conducted using problem solving approach. In parallel to planned training materials, participants were coming up with a different problems in excel at their work and on coming session these problems were discussed by instructor, providing participants with the best ways and approaches using the maximum capabilities of Excel. For the quality control, ISET-PI conducted instructor evaluations, which was extremely positive. Participants were very much content and happy with their new skills that made them more powerful and saw their work much easier.

ISET-PI was contracted by Diplomat Georgia, a leading distribution company, to conduct a series of trainings in advanced spreadsheet analysis for back office staff who had basic familiarity with the main MS Excel functionalities.
