On Wednesday, July 1st, the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) and its implementing partners, ISET-PI, CARE International in the Caucasus, RDA, and GFA, will host the first Stakeholders’ Forum on the Tea Sector. The forum will take place in Kutaisi, at Bagrati Hotel, from 14:00 till 18:00
The forum will be attended by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Gocha Tsopurashvili, as well as by the high officials from the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia, Agricultural Cooperatives Development Agency, Georgian Farmers Association, Tea Producers’ Association, and representatives from the private sector.
The Forum will focus on the challenges and opportunities related to the development of the tea value chain in Georgia. The following topics will be discussed:
* Further integrating farmers’ groups and agricultural cooperatives into the tea value chain and linking farmers with business opportunities
* Improving productivity in the sector
* Identifying new export markets
* Developing and managing tea brands
The forum is the first in a series of dialogues about agriculture and rural development organized by the ISET Policy Institute in partnership with CARE International in the Caucasus, the Regional Development Association, and the Georgian Farmers Association.
