On Sunday, April 23, the Agricultural Policy Research Center (APRC) of the ISET Policy Institute was invited to participate in an information fair, the “US-Georgia Friendship Fair”, dedicated to the celebration of the 25th anniversary of U.S. – Georgian diplomatic relations, organized by the Embassy of the United States to Georgia. ISET's representatives showcased the successful cooperation between the ISET Policy Institute and USAID.

Grant programs, educational opportunities, visitor exchanges and partner organizations were all featured at the Friendship Fair. Georgian citizens interested in educational opportunities, visitor exchanges, grants programs, or in applying for visas had the chance to talk to the relevant offices or organizations represented at the fair.

The Friendship Fair featured representatives from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) and other long-term partner organizations which are implementing large cultural, educational, agricultural, and youth projects across Georgia.

Breakout sessions were hosted in parallel with the fair on study opportunities in the U.S.A., how to find the most suitable American university, as well as strategies for submitting applications and searching for scholarships. The partner organizations also gave presentations on various different projects and opportunities.

The free event was one of several events occurring in different cities across Georgia to celebrate the 25th anniversary of U.S.-Georgian diplomatic relations.

As known, the APRC was established at the ISET Policy Institute in July 2014 with a 3-year grant from USAID to enhance synergy between policy research, professional training, and teaching activities, capitalizing on the institutional strengths of ISET and ISET-PI. The goal of the Center is to be a leading player in agricultural policy research in the region, promoting evidence-based policymaking in the agricultural sector. It was a significant opportunity for the APRC to interact with various stakeholders and interested individuals, and to provide them with center-related information and to seek for possible partnerships with other companies and organizations working in the field of agriculture.
