On November 26, a Memorandum of Cooperation was agreed between the ISET Policy Institute and the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia. The document was signed by Eric Livny, the Director of the ISET Policy Insistute and Otar Danelia, the Minsiter of Agriculture.
The Memorandum aims to develop a market price collection system of agricultural products at the Ministry of Agriculture. Through close cooperation between the ISET Policy Institute, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in Georgia and the Ministry of Agriculture, a price collection methodology will be developed and a list of products will be defined to be collected on a regular basis.
FAO Georgia is to develop a unified electronic database that will collect and store information from each municipality across the country.
Within the framework of the Memorandum, ISET will be monitoring product prices in different municipalities and providing the Ministry with the data collected.
