ISET Policy Institute together with Japan Tabacco International (JTI) Georgia offers free of charge training program "Leaders in Development". The program is designed for policy makers, analysts, mid-level and senior executives from both public and private sectors. Senior decision makers as well as senior professional staff will find the program extremely useful for their work. 10 week long training program is structured around the most important elements of economic understanding. The program will cover how markets work in an open economy, how businesses succeed and fail, why should we worry about inflation, external disbalances, unemployment, what hinders economic growth, what are the benefits of free trade agreements, etc. Each topic will be based on real life domestic examples that are most pressing in Georgia.
Open Society Georgia Foundation commissioned ISET-PI to prepare a policy paper regarding the progress made on the implementation of Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) in Georgia and to conduct a training for the members of the European Integration Committee and the Economic Affairs Committee of the Georgian Parliament regarding DCFTA in frames of the project “Raising support and enhancing understanding of the Europeanization process in Georgia: information and communication campaign on EU-Georgia Association Agreement, including DCFTA”.
The aim of the project by ISET-PI, TNS, and TBC bank was to find out the level of financial literacy in Georgia. 1000 respondents were surveyed in the biggest cities of Georgia. The project is divided in three parts dealing with finance, trust in financial institutions, and financial literacy, in order to investigate Georgian citizens' behavior. These variables were cross-tabulated with control variables such as gender, education, age, income level, etc. This kind of data provides an opportunity to get more detailed information about respondents' behavior within control variables.
