ISET is proud to welcome visiting professor Vojtěch Bartoš to teach an elective course in Development Economics from May 7 to June 25.
Prof. Bartoš is coming to ISET from CERGE-EI in Prague, where he is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics. After lecturing at ISET, he is going to Ludwig-Maximilans-Universität to join the Department of Economics there. Vojtěch Bartoš holds his M.A. degree in Economic Theory from Charles University in Prague, and has been awarded for having the best paper in Economics of Discrimination by Unicredit and the Universities Foundation. He has also been recognized as the Young Economist of the Year by the Czech Economic Society.

His research interests include experimental economics, development economics, econometrics, randomized policy evaluations, behavioural economics, and applied microeconomics. He is mainly working to understand the effects of poverty and discrimination on individual decision-making, and is studying the role formal institutions play in populations who mainly live in transitional and informal arrangements, both in developing and developed countries.
Vojtěch Bartoš has conducted field experiments in developing countries such as India and Afghanistan, and developed nations such as the Czech Republic and Germany.
