On April 5, 2013, ISETers gathered in front of the blood bank of the Iashvili Children’s Clinic in order to donate blood. The blood bank was established in 2007 to serve the clinic that has the capacity to treat 250 patients ranging from 0 to 18 years old.
The donated blood will be used to help save the lives of the children suffering from oncologic and hematologic diseases. Due to the special characteristics and serious nature of such diseases the clinic’s patients are in constant need of donated blood. Because of the huge list of prerequisites that must be satisfied if one wants to donate blood, supplies of donated blood are very low and it is virtually impossible to satisfy demand. The clinic and blood bank’s personnel strive to attract donors day and night and ISET is happy and proud to have been able to be of even a little help.
ISETers believe that donating blood to save the lives of children is much more important than any other activity. We appeal for every human to go to the bank and to give the present of LIFE to ill and suffering children. ISETers are ready and willing to continue blood donations in the future and wish good health to all the children in the clinic.
