On Wednesday, April 22nd Armenian students of ISET organized an event called “Armenian Cuisine Day” as a part of ISET cultural event series aiming to introduce diverse cultures presented here to the entire ISET Community.
ISET cafeteria was occupied by Armenian cooks from the morning who were preparing Armenian national dishes, namely Harisa and Tpov Dolma. Some part of the cooking was done outside the kitchen so that people in cafeteria could see how these delightful dishes are actually prepared in Armenia.
The event started at 5 o’clock and consisted of two main parts.
In the first part, which was held in ISET conference hall full of attendees, included first and second-year students, ISET staff, faculty and research associates from ISET Policy Institute. Guests watched an informative video about Armenia and participated in an interesting and interactive game prepared by Armenian students. They answered different questions about famous Armenians and got souvenir-chocolates from Armenia.
Next, the attendees moved to ISET cafeteria to taste the dishes prepared for them. Most of them tried Harisa and Tpov Dolma for the first time and were very happy to be a part of the event. “I enjoyed the informative game, it was fun and the dishes were really tasty”, mentioned one of the students after the event. To ensure Armenian atmosphere, Armenian students also prepared “Armenian corner” with Lavash, pomegranate, wine accompanied with Armenian music.
ISET would like to thank its Armenian community for taking part in this very special event series that help the school create better learning environment for students.
