Position title: Grants officer

Reports to: Deputy Director for Operations

• Screening, looking for new grants and donors;

• Identify and report regularly on all the emerging opportunities;

• Development of templates per donor requirements;

• Administrative support in proposal submission;

• Grants monitoring for ongoing projects (a) Monitor and fulfilment of project terms, contractual deliverables and conditions and Budget monitoring and reporting);

• Assist to monitor that project milestones are being met and ensure that grants are acquitted in a timely manner;

• Assist in the provision of logistical support in the proposal preparation;

• Provide support in the budget preparation in collaboration with finance team;

• Keeps track of total days budgeted by individual researchers and manages time sheet forms for different researchers and for all projects, ensuring consistency;

• Develops and maintains an updated information/portfolio packages (tailored to different type of projects);

• Assist the point person in any external evaluations or audits for grants;

• Keeping updated a calendar of all upcoming opportunities and events;

• Development and maintaining individual and institutional contacts (experts, partners, etc.), with updated CVs;

• Keeps operational contacts with partners’ research support offices, relevant (administrative) contact points of donor organizations as well as with institutional (government and private) administrative office;

• Coordination of preparation of progress reports for donors and other interested stakeholders.
