ISET's President Discusses the Georgian Government's 4-point Plan at ICC's Consultative Board Meeting

On January 26, 2017, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) conducted its 13th Consultative Board Meeting, attended by the board members, Commission Chairs, ambassadors, bankers and senior representatives of Georgian businesses. The Georgian government was represented by Mr. Giorgi Gakharia, the Minister of the Economy and Sustainable Development, and his deputy, Ms. Keti Bochorishvili.
Acting in his capacity as Chair of ICC’s Economic Commission, Mr. Eric Livny analyzed the 4-point plan of reforms, introduced by the Government of Georgia at the end of last year, and raised the business community’s concerns about some of the new measures, including changes in the corporate, VAT and excise taxes, as well as the recently announced ‘larizarion’ and pension reform initiatives.
ISET Researchers Attend ENPARD Stakeholder Meeting

On 25 January 2017, researchers from the APRC attended a stakeholder meeting of the European Neighborhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD). The meeting was organized by EVOLUXER, which is an implementing partner for capacity building to the Agricultural Cooperatives Development Agency (ACDA).
ENPARD’s key stakeholders were in attendance, including the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Georgia, Giorgi Khanishvili; the Programme Manager at the European Union Delegation to Georgia, Cristina Casella; the head of the Agricultural Cooperatives Development Agency, Giorgi Misheladze; representatives of the ENPARD implementing partners, such as Oxfam, Mercy Corps, Care, People in Need, and other parties involved in the process.
