ISET hosts international workshop on regional economic integration

On July 30-31, 2019 the International School of Economics (ISET) at Tbilisi State University hosted the 2-day workshops on economic integration in Asia and Europe sponsored by the CAREC Institute and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), together with the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. The participants included CAREC member country government representatives, and renowned academics and practitioners from Asia and Europe as resource persons. The workshop aimed to achieve a better understanding on legal approaches to integration; aspects of fiscal and monetaryintegration; integration in energy and environment sectors; best practices, lessons learned, and case studies from Europe and Asia which took different approaches to economic integration.
Mr. Roy Southworth, former Chairman and Chairman Emeritus of the ISET Governing Board, passed away

It is with great sadness that ISET announces an enormous loss to the institution – Mr. Roy Southworth, former Chairman and Chairman Emeritus of the ISET Governing Board, passed away on July 23. He was a most dedicated friend of the broader ISET community, an inspiring development professional, a highly generous contributor, and a brave man with a big heart. Roy is leaving an unparalleled legacy behind at ISET and we all – staff, faculty and the Board – feel honoured to have had the opportunity to get to know him, to work with him and to enjoy his great company. Our thoughts are with Roy’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.
